The Rise of the Agentic Economy

As autonomous agents (AI) take on more operational roles, they require the ability to settle transactions independently. Rem provides the infrastructure to make this possible through secure, compliant stablecoin APIs.

Core Components

x402 Protocol

The x402 protocol is a standard for machine-to-machine payments. Rem provides middleware for Hono that handles x402 requests, allowing agents to negotiate and settle payments without human intervention.

MCP (Model Context Protocol)

We ship a dedicated MCP server that provides agents with a standard interface to:
  • Create Wallets: Programmatic wallet generation via Circle SDK.
  • Send Payments: Rule-based transaction execution.
  • Get Balance: Real-time monitoring of agent-controlled funds.
  • List Transactions: Full auditability of agent behavior.

Feature Matrix

FeatureDescription
Agent IdentitySupport for /v1/agent-certs and JWT-based authentication.
Spending LimitsHard gates on transaction volume per agent/session.
Compliance HoldsAutomatic triggering of holds for transactions exceeding regulatory thresholds.
Simulation Mode/v1/simulate dry-run endpoint to verify logic before mainnet execution.

Supported Networks

Rem focuses on high-performance, low-latency rails suitable for high-frequency agent interactions:
  • Base: Ethereum L2 for cost-effective USDC movement.
  • Solana: Sub-second finality for high-velocity payments.
  • Tempo: Specifically tuned for x402 workflows.

Use Cases

  • cross-border payment startups
  • B2B remittance operators
  • Fintechs expanding into stablecoin treasury flows
  • Crypto-to-fiat operators needing better workflow tooling
